RPN steward election results: Nicole McIntosh to serve Providence Health Care RPNs; nominations re-opened for stewards in Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health

At the close of nominations for dedicated stewards-at-large to represent HSA Registered Psychiatric Nurses in three health authorities, Nicole McIntosh was acclaimed to represent members working in Providence Health Care.

McIntosh is an RPN working at St. Paul’s Hospital, and a member of the union’s Board of Directors, representing members in Region 6. As the elected steward-at-large, McIntosh will have regular dedicated time to represent HSA RPNs as a steward.

Two dedicated paid steward positions remain to be filled: a .6 FTE in Fraser Health and a .2 FTE in Vancouver Coastal Health. HSA RPNs interested in supporting colleagues in ensuring their collective agreement rights are encouraged to seek nomination to support members working in their health authority. NBA stewards-at-large are compensated by their employer at their regular rate of pay.

Stewards support HSA members in dealing with employers on labour relations issues in the workplace. HSA offers comprehensive training for stewards and support from labour relations staff.

Interested members are encouraged to seek nomination for a steward-at-large position in the health authority where they work.
