Constituency Liasion Special Briefing:

Last week, all HSA Constituency Liaisons received an email advising that Starbright Children’s Development Centre was facing imminent closure as the centre was not selected to be the provider in the pilot ‘Family Connection Centre’ project, and that this would be the focus of a special briefing for constituency liaisons. Happily, Starbright is no longer facing closure as the government announced that they had signed a new two-year service agreement with the centre.

However, the transition to Family Connection Centres is still expected to resume, so the urgent need to meet with all MLAs across party lines about the importance of all Child Development Centres to some of the most vulnerable members of our society, remains.

Join this special Constituency Liaison briefing to learn the background context about Child Development Centres, the planned transition to Family Connection Centres, and recommendations in how to approach the subject with MLAs.
 
Whether you were able to meet with your MLA recently or you’re new to the program and haven’t made a meeting request before, please join this effort. While Starbright is safe, we are still in a critical moment and need to raise awareness of the value that Child Development Centres bring to our communities. You’ll also be supporting the HSA members who have been providing crucial care and support for the babies, toddlers, and kids who utilize these centres.
