HSA Multi-Site Team Training/Grievance Handling Workshop in Kamloops

An HSA Multi-site Steward Team Training and Grievance Handling Workshop has been arranged for all General and OH&S Stewards at Royal Inland Hospital, the Open Door Group, and Thompson Nicola Family Resource Society.   

This workshop is open to General Stewards and OH&S Stewards.  It will introduce these individuals to the Collective Agreement and the grievance process.  We will also develop contract interpretation and grievance handling skills. Please note, although this workshop will be focused on grievance handling and labour relations, OH&S Stewards are welcome to attend as well. 

Further, we will also discuss building your Steward team including:

  • Organizing chapter meetings and other events
  • Engaging your members
  • Resources for stewards
  • Stewards and teamwork
  • Keeping track of grievance meetings
  • Communication
  • Raising awareness of the Union

Coffee, Tea, Lunch, and an afternoon snack will be provided.

Reimbursement for Travel Expenses:

Participants traveling on approved HSA business are reimbursed for receipted travel expenses.

Unless otherwise approved, HSA pays for participant's travel (mileage or alternate fare, and wage replacement) in the way that is most reasonable and least expensive overall.

When a member uses his/her personal vehicle for travel, reimbursement will be at the rate equivalent to maximum Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) non-taxable allowance effective January 1, 2019.

HSA will reimburse for all public transit.
