In response to member interest in learning more about Palestine and Israel, HSA is offering a workshop series in June to provide information and an opportunity to learn about the history of the region and gain a better understanding of how antisemitism and Islamophobia are present in our society.

These workshops are intended to provide a variety of views and perspectives for individuals to consider in addition to their own research and personal experiences.

June 25th – Labour 4 Palestine | Palestine 101: What Workers can Do 7 – 9 pm Pacific Time

Participants will receive a brief introduction to the topic and a history of Palestine, what we mean by the term “Israeli Apartheid” and which international bodies have come up with this conclusion, how Canada is complicit, why Palestine is a workers’ issue and what you and your unions can do to help the cause. There is also a discussion portion to this workshop.

Wage replacement is not provided for this series of workshops. Registration will be based on a first come, first serve basis with a maximum of 50 participants. Members are welcome to pick and choose which events they want to attend based on workshop availability.
