Upcoming Training: Preparing for Job Action at Your Chapter

Your union has been preparing for all possible outcomes at the bargaining table. We have offered “Understanding Job Action” presentations at chapters, regional meetings, and online. Now, with a 92% strike vote from the Community Health Services and Support (CBA) table and a 90% strike vote from Health Science Professionals (HSPBA) members, we are getting ready for next steps.

Unions take job action as a last resort when withdrawing our services is the only tool we have left to push for a fair agreement. For job action to be effective, we must all work together to show our commitment to fairness and justice.

Job action can take many forms. It could start with the refusal to perform specific duties and escalate to an all-out withdrawal of everything but essential services. At this early stage, we don’t know if job action will take place at your chapter or what it will look like. However, we are committed to preparing you for any scenario. This training is targeted to sites that may be impacted by job action taken under the CBA and/or HSPBA contracts. We need your help to work in solidarity and support should there be job action at your chapter.
