Action Required: P1 Pharmacists – New Qualification Differential
We are writing to advise members of an important update regarding the new Qualification Differential for P1 Pharmacists under 10.3 of the Classification Manual. If you believe you may be entitled to this differential, it is important you contact your employer as soon as possible to avoid any delay in receiving this compensation.
Who is Eligible?
Under 10.3 of the Classification Manual, P1 Pharmacists may be entitled to a Qualification Differential (QD) of up to $250/month if:
- You’ve completed a Year One Residency OR
- You’re in a P1 position that requires completion of a Year One Residency or equivalent, but you have not completed a residency.
The QD is paid on a pro-rated hourly basis and will appear on every bi-weekly pay statement.
How to Claim Your QD
If you believe you qualify, please reach out to your supervisor/manager by email as soon as possible to inform them that you believe you are entitled to the qualification differential and provide documentary verification that you have completed your Year One Residency, if applicable.
Please note that you must be a regular part-time or full-time employee to qualify.
To ensure you receive the QD starting from the first eligible pay period after April 1, 2026, please do not wait to contact your employer.
