Deadline for registration for the forum in Kelowna is January 11.
Health care professionals have been barred from participating in the public forums, but are encouraged to participate in 'professional forums.' In Kelowna, the 'professional' forum is scheduled for Feb. 16.

HSA regions amended

As provided under the HSA constitution, the unions Board of Directors has approved changes to the ten regions. The new regions composition reflects changes in the governance of health care regions while continuing to provide for numerical balance among the HSA regions.
The changes in regions were reviewed by delegates to the union's fall regional meetings, and feedback to the Board of Directors was positive.

B.C. labour calls on half a million members to boycott Goodyear Tires

Vancouver - The B.C. Federation of Labour has endorsed a call by the Canadian Labour Congress for a national boycott of Goodyear Tire, says Federation President Jim Sinclair.
Delegates to the Federation's recent 50th annual convention approved an emergency resolution supporting the struggle of 15,000 striking Goodyear workers in Canada and the United States. These workers have been battling major contract concessions while on strike at 15 Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. facilities across North America since October 5, 2006.
International Human Rights Day Dec. 10

OTTAWA ... This Sunday December 10, people across the country will mark International Human Rights Day by asking the federal government to realize that women's rights are human rights.
"This government let women down when they abandoned the promotion of women's equality, " said Barbara Byers, executive vice-president of the Canadian Labour Congress.
