CHIEF STEWARD AND ASSISTANT CHIEF STEWARD ADVANCED STEWARD TRAINING - OCTOBER 21, 2019
This 1 day specialized training is for Chief Stewards and Assistant Chief Stewards. As leaders in your chapter, you have some additional opportunities, responsibilities, and challenges. The goal of this workshop is to identify and discuss your role in Stage 2 and 3 meetings and your role within the Union structure, including your role as a chapter/steward team leader. We will also focus on ways in which you can share your workload with other stewards, build your steward team, mentor new stewards, and engage in succession planning.
ADVANCED CONTRACT INTERPRETATION WORKSHOP – INVESTIGATIONS – OCTOBER 22, 2019
Following basic steward training, many stewards request additional training to help them deal confidently with workplace issues. This workshop will help stewards develop their investigation and grievance handling skills, including their role in Stage 2 and Stage 3 meetings. We’ll take an in-depth look at some of the common and complex issues members face at work that result in employer investigations, grievances, and the need for steward advocacy and guidance.
