Andrew Duarte acclaimed as Region 1 representative on HSA Board of Directors
Andrew Duarte will represent HSA members in Region 1 on the HSA Board of Directors after the deadline for nominations passed with no further nominations.
Duarte is 36 years old and has been involved with various unions since his early 20s, and found his way to social work 6 years ago. He works for the John Howard Society of North Island as a Housing Assistance Worker, supporting individuals and families with finding housing. Appointed to the union’s Board of Directors after the position was vacated late last year, Duarte has been active as a steward and member-at-large and was appointed to represent members from Region 1 on the union’s board of directors when the position was vacated less than six months before the union’s annual convention.
Duarte will begin the 2023-2025 term at the conclusion of the 2023 HSA Annual Convention, running April 19-21 in Vancouver.
