Autumn HSA Steward Workshops: Basic Steward Training

Basic Steward Training (three-day workshop)
Stewards play a vital role in the union. This workshop will teach new stewards the skills to enable them to serve confidently in their role. Workshop content includes the role of the steward, organizing your chapter, grievance handling, and basic contract interpretation.
Participants must commit to attending all three consecutive days for either workshop:
Dates: October 16-18, 2023
Location: HSA Office, 180 East Columbia Street, New Westminster
Time: 9am - 4:30pm
or
Dates: November 20-22, 2023
Location: Virtual via Webex
Time: 9am - 4:30pm
Basic Steward Training is for Lead Stewards, Assistant Lead Stewards, and General Stewards who have not previously attended Basic Steward Training. You must be an elected steward to register.
Participants will receive wage replacement and pre-approved dependent care expenses in accordance with HSA policy.
Register early, space is limited. Stewards who are interested in these workshops are asked to complete a registration application by logging into My Events Registration using the prompts provided. Workshops are listed under Steward Education events.
