The HSA Board of Directors and your bargaining team are urging health science professionals to vote YES in favour of the tentative agreement reached last week between the Paramedical Professional Bargaining Association and the Health Employers Association of BC.

The agreement was negotiated under the terms of a framework agreement negotiated between the PPBA and HEABC in June. Under the terms of the framework agreement, the parties agreed to no net increases or decreases to wages and benefits for the duration of the two-year agreement, and to further discussion on a limited number of key issues.

-The bargaining committee has done an excellent job during this round of negotiations," says HSA president Cindy Stewart. -Despite the restrictions imposed by the framework agreement, the bargaining team managed to achieve some of our key bargaining objectives while protecting health science professionals from the employers long list of concessions demands."

For example, the tentative agreement includes bumping language ... an area of dispute between HSA and HEABC for more than a decade.

Stewart notes that any contract gains are a remarkable achievement in light of the current political environment and the Liberal governments track record on public sector bargaining.

A copy of the tentative agreement is available below. An annotated version of the agreement, including explanatory notes from the bargaining committee, will be available on this web site in the next few weeks. It will also be mailed directly to all health science professionals represented by HSA.
