Basic Steward Training (three-day workshop)

Stewards play a vital role in the union. This workshop will teach new stewards the skills to enable them to serve confidently in their role. Workshop content includes the role of the steward, organizing your chapter, grievance handling, and basic contract interpretation. This workshop is the prerequisite for HSA’s Facing Management, Contract Interpretation, and Lead/Asst. Lead Steward workshops.

Participants must commit to attending three consecutive days.

April 15-17, 2024 – HSA office

Time: 9am - 4:30pm each day

Basic Steward Training is for Lead Stewards, Assistant Lead Stewards, and General Stewards, and you must be an elected steward to register.

Participants will receive wage replacement, accommodations, travel, and dependent care expenses in accordance with HSA policy.

Workshops are listed under Steward Education events.
