BC Federation of Labour scholarships - 2006 Canadian Labour Congress WINTER SCHOOL
The BC Federation of Labour offers two scholarships for attendance at the 2006 CLC Winter School:
- The Debra Mills Scholarship (information and application form available for download below) is intended for persons with disabilities to attend a one-week course. See attached course schedule or check the CLC website <http://pacific.clc-ctc.ca/> for more information. The scholarship will be decided by a lottery draw on January 10, 2006.
Week One: January 22 - 27, 2006
Week Two: January 29 - February 3, 2006
Week Three: February 5 - 10, 2006
Week Four: February 12 - 17, 2006 - The Donna Sheaves Memorial Scholarship (information available for download below) is for a union woman to attend the Women in Leadership course. Applicants must write a letter as outlined in the attached application form.
Women in Leadership (Week One)
This course offers union women an opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership skills and knowledge in a variety of current and emerging labour issues. A major component of the course will cover communication and motivational skills that are important for women activists at all levels. Participants will leave the course ready to take an active role in their union.
Applications for both of these scholarships must be received at the BC Federation office by January 4, 2006.
