Bruce MacDonald to represent Region 3 members
HSA members in Region 3 have elected Bruce MacDonald, a social worker at Royal Columbian Hospital, as their representative on the union's Board of Directors.
The other candidates for election were Tanis Blomly, a recreation therapist at Eagle Ridge Hospital, and Susan Hearsey, a physiotherapist at Burnaby Hospital.
Bruce has been chief steward at Royal Columbian Hospital, has served as a Member-at-Large for Region 3, and is a member of HSAs Education Committee. He has served as general steward, essential services liaison and job action coordinator. In the recent round of bargaining, Bruce was an alternate member of the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association bargaining committee. He will take office at the conclusion of HSA's 35th Annual Convention this weekend.
