Community health services and support workers strike at VCMHS; community social services workers strike at Cameray Family and Community Services

Community social services workers (represented by HSA) are on strike tomorrow, as are community health services and support workers (represented by CUPE) at Vancouver Community Mental Health. (HSA also represents health science professionals at VCMHS, who are not on strike.)

Community health services and support

Picketing commences at two VCMHS sites from early morning until 11am, when the picketers will go join the BC Federation of Labour rally downtown. More details on the rally here

The two affected VCMHS sites (pickets from early morning until 11am) are:

- Robert & Lily Lee Family FHC located at 1669 E. Broadway

- 520 West 6th Avenue, Vancouver

Last week, community health services and support members at Richmond Mental Health and at North Shore Health were on strike for one day to continue our call for a fair and reasonable contract.

Community social services

There will be no picketing at Cameray Family and Community Services, but workers will be going down to essential service levels in order to join the rally downtown.

For more information, please contact your steward or call HSAs office.

Support and solidarity

All members are invited to support the picketing at the two VCMHS on your personal time / breaks. Members are also invited to join the rally downtown tomorrow on your lunchbreak.
