COVID Safety Plans Virtual Workshops
COVID SAFETY PLANS
Dates: October 7, 2020 or October 29, 2020
Time: 9am – 4:30pm
Location: Virtual WebEx – Details to follow
WorkSafe BC Act and Regulations set out that each workplace must have a health and safety program designed to prevent injuries and occupational diseases. Workplace health and safety programs must have safety plans to address hazards in the workplace. These plans must include appropriate written instructions, available for reference by all workers, and provision by the employer for the instruction and supervision of workers in the safe performance of their work. COVID-19 has changed workplaces across BC and they must now include a COVID-19 Safety Plan.
Participants in this workshop will:
- Become familiar with the various authorities supporting health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Understand the regulatory requirements for having policies and procedures specific to COVID-19.
- Understand the Provincial Health Officer's Order.
- Be familiar with the components of a COVID-19 Safety Plan and the resources available to help in the plan development.
These one day workshops are open to all Occupational Health and Safety Stewards or alternates and any member who is a part of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee at their workplace.
Members must choose one of the following dates: October 7, 2020 or October 29, 2020. Space is limited.
