Daechsel elected to represent HSA Region 5 on Board of Directors

HSA members have elected Lisa Daechsel to serve a two-year term on the union’s board of directors representing Region 5, which includes worksites in the Lower Mainland, including BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital, BC Cancer – Vancouver and Surrey, the BC Centre for Ability, and Open Door Group. A Child Life Specialist at BC Children’s Hospital, 

Daechsel served as the chapter’s full time Lead Steward from November 2022 to December 2024 and previously represented members as an Occupational Health and Safety Steward. An elected Member-at-Large, Daechsel has also served on the union's Resolutions Committee, and participated in equity caucuses and annual conventions.

Daechsel will join the Board of Directors on adjournment of the 2025 HSA annual convention Friday, April 11. 

Voting was conducted online between December 9, 2024 and January 5, 2025.
