Email Safety Alert
Unfortunately, we’ve become aware that email scammers are targeting HSA members, activists, and staff with malicious email messages that impersonate our senior leadership.
The members and staff who received these messages became suspicious as, upon a closer look, the messages came from an email address that is not associated with HSA.
Please be assured that HSA takes online and data security very seriously, and this scam does not involve a breach of our systems. The scammer appears to be using public information posted on LinkedIn to find individuals with a relationship to HSA.
If you receive a suspicious email that appears to come from HSA, please be cautious! Here are some safety tips:
- Check that the sender’s email address has a valid username and domain name. Messages from HSA will come from the hsabc.org domain.
- These emails often have a sense of urgency or time constraints along with very brief language, poor grammar, spelling or formatting.
- Do not click on links, attachments or QR codes provided in any suspicious emails.
- Not sure if an email is legitimate? You can always contact us by email to ask if a message came from us.
