Funds still available for RPN professional development
HSA Registered Psychiatric Nurses are encouraged to access funding available through the union for professional development.
“Continuing education is important to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, and HSA has structure this fund – obtained through contract bargaining – to provide access to training dollars to as many members as possible,” said HSA President Val Avery.
“HSA recognizes the expenses related to professional funding can sometimes hold people back from participating in conferences, courses, and other professional development opportunities. We are now providing up to $1,000 to applicants to take advantage of the opportunities available,” Avery said.
The fund is available for members enrolled in courses of any length – from one-day education days to university-level programs. Some upcoming programs that may be of interest to RPNs can be found on the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC website at https://www.crpnbc.ca/education/upcoming-educational-opportunities/
The deadline for the application for the professional development fund is December 31, 2013.
