Gibbons elected to represent HSA Region 5 on Board of Directors

Carla Gibbons will represent members from Region 5 on the HSA Board of Directors following a byelection to replace former board member Jillian Slind, who vacated the position in May 2024.

A cytotechnologist in the Cervical Cancer Screening Laboratory since 2005, Gibbons has held a variety of elected positions within HSA. She is currently the Lead Steward at BC Cancer in Vancouver and serves as a Labour Council delegate to the Vancouver and District Labour Council.  She previously served on the board from 2019 to 2021, and prior to that was a Member-at-Large on the Resolutions Committee from 2017 to 2019.

Gibbons’ term of office will last until the end of HSA’s 2025 Convention.
