Hale elected to HSA Board of Directors
HSA members in Region 8 have elected Cherylee Hale as their representative on the union’s Board of Directors. Her election is effective immediately for a two-year term that ends at conclusion of HSA’s annual convention in 2020.
Hale is a cardiology technologist working at Penticton Regional Hospital and Kelowna General Hospital. She has also worked at Kootenay Lake Hospital and Trail Regional Hospital. For 28 years throughout her working career, she has been an active union member, initially with HEU and then as an HSA member.
She has served in a variety of union-related positions, including general steward, lead occupational health & safety steward, member-at-large, and member of bargaining committees.
Hale defeated Kevin Towhey, a medical radiation technologist at Royal Inland Hospital who had served on the Board of Directors since 2016.
