HSA members urged to vote in October 14 federal election

On October 14, 2008 Canadians will head to the polls to elect a new federal government.  The Members of Parliament we elect can have a huge impact on the health care and community social services that HSA members provide.  HSA urges members to examine the positions of the parties on these issues, and to vote for candidates who will support public health care and community social services.

General voting day:

Tuesday, October 14

Voting times:

7:00 am ... 7:00 pm (Pacific Standard Time)
7:30 am ... 7:30 pm (Mountain Standard Time)
   
The Canada Elections Act provides that employees are entitled to 3 consecutive hours to vote on Election Day, with no loss of pay.

Every registered voter should have received a -Voter Information Card" in the mail which shows where you vote.  Eligible voters who have not received a voting card can find out where to vote by contacting your local Elections Canada office, or any candidates campaign office in your riding.  Unregistered voters who are eligible to vote can register at the voting place when you go to vote.
