HSA offers scholarships for the Summer Institute for Union Women June 22 – 26, 2025 Simon Fraser University, Burnaby BC

The Summer Institute for Union Women (SIUW) is a comprehensive leadership institute with skills-building workshops, cultural activities, and education sessions designed to expand our understanding of solidarity and rebuild connections across our region.

This event is for all cis and trans women, non-binary, queer, questioning, and those who are comfortable in a space that centers our experiences.

The Western Regional Summer Institute for Union Women (SIUW) will be held June 22-26, 2025, in Burnaby, British Columbia at Simon Fraser University (SFU). The theme for 2025 is “Rage! Resist! Reclaim!”

HSA provides a limited number of SIUW scholarships to cover registration, transportation, accommodation, meals, wage replacement, and dependent care. To make opportunities available to as many members as possible, preference will be given to members who have not attended SIUW in the past three years.

In addition, HSA supports the participation of dependents of HSA members by sponsoring a scholarship to attend the Summer Institute for Union Women with their parent/guardian. If your dependent is interested in attending, please have them complete the long answer form and the online registration called: 2025 Summer Institute for Union Women (Dependents).

To apply for an HSA SIUW Scholarship, members must complete a registration application by logging into My Events Registration using the prompts provided. Please select ‘create a login’ through the Event Registration and click on ‘here’ to receive your member ID by email or call the HSA office at 604-517-0994 or 1-800-663-6119 if you do not know your HSA member ID number.
