HSA Political Action Fund support available for election campaign training

Members may apply for Political Action Fund support to attend election campaign training which is:

a) non-partisan (e.g., the Canadian Women Voters Congress Women's Campaign School); or
b) offered by labour organizations with which HSA is affiliated (e.g., the BC Federation of Labour, the Canadian Labour Congress, labour councils etc); or
c) offered by political parties that meet all of HSA's 4 criteria, by demonstrating support for the following:

i) a positive role for the public sector;
ii) the principles of the Canada Health Act;
iii) free collective bargaining for public sector employees; and
iv) progressive occupational health and safety legislation.

The BC Federation of Labour is holding campaign schools around the province, designed for members with little or no campaign experience, as follows:

Vancouver: Saturday January 12, 2013

Kamloops: Saturday January 19, 2013

Campbell River: Saturday January 26, 2013

Langley: Saturday February 2, 2013

HSA members may apply for Political Action Fund support to attend the school in their area by completing the attached form entitled: "Political Action Fund Application: Grassroots political action or training, & election campaign training", and sending it to Carol Riviere at the HSA office. Additional application forms are available on the HSA website.
