HSA seeks Region 3 representative on unions Board of Directors

HSA is calling for nominations for the position of Regional Director for Region 3, following the resignation of Maureen Ashfield who has served in the position since 2005. Maureen resigned from the board last week due to a serious illness in her family.

The HSA board of directors is grateful for the contribution made by Maureen during her term and offers their best wishes to her and her family.

The new Regional Director will serve the remainder of the two-year term which ends at the conclusion of HSAs 2007 annual convention.

Regional Directors meet every month and take an active leadership role in the union's committees. They are reimbursed for the time they spend in official meetings at their own regular rate of pay. Part-time and casual members are reimbursed as if they were at work during the meetings they attend.

To be eligible, members must be employed in a Chapter and have been a member in good standing for one year. Candidates must be nominated in writing by at least two HSA members.

This is an excellent opportunity for members to contribute to the overall policy direction of the union and to represent the needs and interests of other HSA members.

Nominations must be received in the HSA office no later than Tuesday, February 21, 2006.
