HSA seeks Region 5 representative on unions board of directors
HSA is calling for nominations for the position of Regional Director for Region 5 following the election of Reid Johnson as HSA President at the 36th annual convention held this past weekend.
Johnson was first elected as Region 5 Director in 1997 and was re-elected for another term this spring. The new Region 5 Director will serve the remainder of the two-year term which ends at the conclusion of HSAs 2009 annual convention.
Regional Directors meet every month and take an active leadership role in the union's committees. They are reimbursed for the time they spend in official meetings at their own regular rate of pay. Part-time and casual members are reimbursed as if they were at work during the meetings they attend.
To be eligible, members must be employed in a chapter and have been a member in good standing for one year. Candidates must be nominated in writing by at least two HSA members.
Nominations must be received in the HSA office no later than Tuesday, May 15, 2007.
For more information about the role and responsibilities of Regional Directors and to obtain a nomination form, please contact your Chief Steward.

This is an excellent opportunity for members to contribute to the overall policy direction of the union and to represent the needs and interests of other HSA members.
