HSA Supports BCGEU and PEA Job Action

BCGEU and PEA members are expected to begin picketing specific locations as early as Tuesday. HSA stands in solidarity with these actions, and all members should respect picket lines and not cross them.

More information on the location of picketed sites is coming, but in the meantime, if you encounter a picket line, do not cross and contact your steward and HSA for further instructions.

The BCGEU and PEA job action comes in response to a breakdown in their negotiations with the provincial government over pay increases. HSA is currently negotiating on behalf of members on four contracts covering the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association, the Community Bargaining Association, the Community Social Services Bargaining Association and the Nurses' Bargaining Association, but monetary discussions on these contracts are in early stages.
