-WOMENS VOICES AT THE TABLE"
A diverse group of community and labour women have been meeting to organize the large Vancouver community event for this years International Womens Day (IWD) celebration in Vancouver. This year, the IWD Rally at the Art Gallery will be followed by a Conference at the Vancouver Public Library.
The days events are scheduled as follows and the poster is attached:
SATURDAY, MARCH 6TH

| 1:00 PM | This Rally will highlight the lack of womens voices at the G8/G20 meetings.
Please encourage your members to attend and bring your banners and flags. Featured Speakers include Semhal Getachew, a leading Ethiopian lawyer, womens advocate and researcher. Live entertainment, including well-known Aboriginal Hip Hop artist JB The First Lady and others. |

This Conference features 15 roundtable discussions, with conclusions and recommendations presented to the group in plenary. Excellent speakers are featured at each table in moderated discussion groups. There will be live entertainment including Solidarity Notes and more. Refreshments will be provided.
A limited number of display tables are available at the Conference for our materials. One table has been set aside for labour material. If you have something relevant to IWD, womens issues or the G8/G20 Summit that you wish to make available to Conference participants, please arrange to have 250-300 copies delivered to the Alice McKay Room at the Vancouver Public Library between 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 6th. Please let me know if you plan to send materials for display/distribution. Lets make sure to have our voices heard at this event.
