Last call for HSA Election Campaign School

Space is still available in HSAs 2-day, non-partisan election campaign school.  This will be the last campaign school offered by HSA before the May 2013 provincial election, so members planning to work on this  election are encouraged to apply.

This workshop is designed for members with little or no experience in electoral politics, but who are interested in working on election campaigns or running for political office.  The school will focus on opportunities for involvement in the upcoming provincial election, but will also touch on municipal and federal elections.

If you want to help elect representatives who will support public health care and community social services, then HSAs election campaign school is for you!

Campaign School Dates:  Monday, February 4 & Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Location:  HSA Office, 300 - 5118 Joyce Street, Vancouver

Participants will discuss the various roles that HSA members can play during the pre-election and election periods.  Workshop topics include:

• The nomination process & nomination campaigns
• Overview of an election campaign
• Pre-election work
• Campaign positions (who does what)
• How to get involved
• How HSA can support members to run or work in elections.

Planning and pre-election work for the provincial election is well underway, so there are already many opportunities for HSA members to get involved.   Come to HSAs election campaign school to find out how you can make a difference in your community.

To register for this workshop, log-in to the HSA website using your member ID number, click on Member Services, and then Event Registration from the drop-down menu, or go to http://events.hsabc.org/index.php.  As with other HSA workshops, wage replacement and expenses are provided to members attending this campaign school.

Registration Deadline: Monday, January 28, 2013.
