May 20: Vancouver International AIDS Candlelight Memorial
AIDS Vancouver has announced details for this years International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, one of the worlds oldest and largest grassroots mobilization campaigns for HIV awareness in the world.
Date: Sunday May 20th, 8 PM
Place: Alexandra Park, 1755 Beach Avenue (at Bidwell)
Started in 1983, the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial takes place every third Sunday in May and is led by a coalition of some 1,200 community organizations in 115 countries. AIDS Vancouver is honoured to be the host community organization for the Vancouver event, lovingly returned to Alexandra Park.
This is the 29th year for the candlelight memorial and the theme is "Promoting Health and Dignity Together." The International gatherings all aim to raise awareness around HIV and to promote respect for the human rights of people living with HIV everywhere. Together, alongside with our community partners and allies, we invite you to join us.
