National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the Indigenous children who never returned home, survivors of residential schools, and their impacted families and communities. HSA hopes that Indigenous members find solace in their communities and encourages all non-Indigenous members to take time on this day to learn, reflect, and act in solidarity on the ways that colonial systems operate in Canada. Colonial harms have not stopped even though residential school systems are no longer operating. The video below demonstrates some of the effects of the Indian Act, and residential school system:
