NBA Ratification: Information meetings and comprehensive report coming soon

The tentative 2022-2025 collective agreement reached by your NBA bargaining team on March 31 is an historic achievement delivering record-setting compensation for BC’s nurses. It comes after months of meetings between NBA negotiators and HEABC, bringing the collective voice of thousands of nurses to the bargaining table.

The proposed collective agreement contains many meaningful incentives that will help retain nurses today and attract the nurses needed for the future. NBA negotiators also reached a groundbreaking commitment from the provincial government to support mandatory nurse-patient ratios. The proposed contract has leveraged this commitment on ratios to secure additional funding to bolster the NBA contract language.

HSA is currently setting up information meetings that will be held next week.

A meeting for all stewards will be held online, and telephone town halls will be conducted by phone to allow all members to listen to reports, hear questions from other members, and ask questions themselves.

Dates for these meetings and information about how you can join will be coming in the next few days. 

A comprehensive report on the proposed agreement is also in the works, and will be shared in the next few days. 

Voting information 

Voting on the tentative agreement is open to all HSA members covered by the Nurses Bargaining Association, and will be held online April 19-26.

You will need a voting credential to cast your vote; these will be sent out by email on April 19, the day the voting begins. If you have not provided your email address to HSA, your voting credentials will be mailed to you and should be received by April 19.
