New professional development fund for HSA registered psychiatric nurses
HSA announced today the establishment of a $120,000 Professional Development Fund accessible to all registered psychiatric nurses who are members of HSA.
The funds, achieved through collective bargaining, may be used to cover professional development courses and events. HSA will cover the cost of tuition, registration fees, books and related expenses to a maximum of $500. Application deadline is December 31, 2013.
"Continuing education is important to RPNs, and HSA has structured this fund to provide access to as many members as possible to the funds achieved through collective bargaining," said HSA President Reid Johnson.
"The fund is available for members enrolled in courses of any length. For example, members may apply to the fund to cover the registration fee for the upcoming June 7 College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of BC annual education day," Johnson said.
