Nominations Open for Region 2 Member-at-Large Alternate positions

Nominations are now open for two (2) Member-at-Large (MAL) Alternate positions for Region 2. Elections for these two positions will take place at the Region 2 meeting at Convention, April 15.

To be eligible to run for the position of MAL Alternate, a nominee must have been a member of HSA for at least one year immediately prior to election and be in good standing.

Either a verbal or written nomination shall be accepted. A nominee does not need to be present at the election provided they have submitted a written expression of their nomination. However, only convention delegates from Region 2 will be eligible to vote.

The term of office for Members-at-Large shall be two years and will commence upon completion of the 2026 Convention.

An elected Members-at-Large Alternate will step into the role of Member-at-Large should an opening become available over the course of the term. MAL’s play an important role representing their regional memberships in HSA governance by serving on various committees and shall make every effort to attend all meetings called by the Chair of the committee(s) to which they have been appointed. A Member-at-Large shall attend their Regional Meetings and HSA Annual Convention as a delegate and may attend the BC Federation of Labour Convention. 

Nominees attending Convention can declare their nomination in person at the Region 2 meeting.

Nominees not attending convention, please email @email with your name, chapter, and a statement of intention by 5:00 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2026. 

Voting will be conducted by the Regional Director at the Region 2 meeting at Convention, Wednesday, April
