Nurses' Bargaining: Your vote matters: NBA strike vote closes at 9pm today

All members who have yet to vote are urged to cast their strike vote before voting closes today, May 11 at 9:00 pm.

A strike vote is a key tool in bargaining. A strong YES vote is the most effective way to apply pressure on the employer and increase our bargaining leverage. After months of bargaining, the employer has failed to meaningfully respond to nurses’ priorities. Progress to address issues such as workload, workplace safety, and staffing has stalled.

Voting YES does not immediately trigger a strike; it does give the union the legal authority to declare job action. In many cases, a strong strike mandate is often enough to bring the employer back to the bargaining table before it gets there.

Your ballot has been sent to your personal email through Simply Voting, a secure third-party provider, with the subject line “NBA Strike Vote.”

Nurses deserve a fair deal – we need a “yes” vote to make that happen.
