Benefits are on the bargaining table: Get the facts

As you may know, the 2022-2025 Nurses Bargaining Association (NBA) contract expired on March 31, 2025 and your next collective agreement is currently being negotiated by the provincial bargaining committee. Protecting your health care benefits, along with wages and working conditions, are among the top priorities in this round of bargaining.

The current NBA benefits package is one of the best across the nation: it is the only 100 percent employer-paid plan, and the employer is expected to propose limits to these benefits and attempt to move the NBA to a Joint Benefits Trust.

HSA has produced a module to help explain your current benefit entitlements and the possible options the bargaining committee may present to the membership. Stay informed about these potential changes and access the module through this link.

Back at the table this week

Your NBA provincial bargaining committee is back at the table this week. Your committee is comprised of nurses from the BCNU, HSA, HEU, and the BCGEU. HSA is represented at bargaining by Nicole McIntosh, an RPN with 19 years of experience, who is supported by Colette Barker, HSA staff member.
