Donna Barry RN is a nurse practitioner and holds a Masters in Public Health. She is the Director of Advocacy and Policy at the Boston headquarters of Partners In Health, the renowned global health agency.

Partners In Health was founded by Dr. Paul Farmer in 1987. Its partner organization in Haiti, Zanmi Lasante, is one of the leading health care providers in the country. The two are strong voices for sovereignty and social justice for the Haitian people. They work closely with the Ministry of Health of the Government of Haiti in promoting a model of free and publicly accessible health services.  The story of the founding of Partners In Health and its work in Haiti is told in the 2004 biography of Dr. Paul Farmer, "Mountains Beyond Mountains", by Tracy Kidder.

Organized by:  Haiti Solidarity BC

The Health Sciences Association helps support Haiti Solidarity BC through the unions Equality and Social Action Fund.
