Radio series highlights occupational health and safety issues in health care
CBC Radio airs a three-part series on occupational health and safety issues in health care starting tonight.
The series includes a close look at occupational injury among ultrasound technologists, and features interviews with HSA members and staff, as well as expert Judy Village, who is one of only six certified professional egonomists in British Columbia.
HSA has lobbied for years to have ultrasound technologists added to the list of industries or activities acknowledged by the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB -- also known as WorkSafe BC) to have an automatic presumption that certain conditions arise from the work.
The three-part series airs on the CBC National radio program, The World at Six, on Monday, Jan. 15, Tuesday, Jan. 16, and Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 6 - 6:30 p.m. on CBC Radio. For information on listings, visit CBC RADIO NEWS.
