Rally Nov. 30 to protest private emergency clinic

Health care workers are invited to join delegates to the B.C. Federation of Labours 50th Convention who will be rallying outside of Vancouver City Hall in protest of Canadas first private-for-profit emergency clinic.

Speakers will include representatives of front line health care workers, seniors, and the B.C. Health Coalition.

Earlier this week, a delegation of labour leaders met with Vancouver City Council members to call on the City to enforce local zoning requirements and deny the Clinic a business licence.

Following an emergency debate, delegates to the Federation's convention passed a resolution calling on all levels of government to enforce the Canada Health Act and shut down the clinic -- slated to open at the end of the week.
