Region 1 Regional Director Acclaimed

Matthew Miller, who currently serves as HSA lead steward at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, has been acclaimed as the Regional Director in Region 1 – representing members working in central and northern Vancouver Island.

Miller, a diagnostic medical sonographer, is an active union member. In addition to serving as lead steward, he is a worker representative on his worksite’s joint occupational health and safety committee, and is a strong advocate for safety in HSA members’ workplaces.

“It has been a pleasure to support my colleagues as a lead steward and a health and safety representative,” he said in a statement to members.

Miller will join the Board of Directors in April 2025, on adjournment of the union’s annual convention, for a two-year term.
