Register now for all-candidates' meetings in HSA election

The registration deadline is fast-approaching for attendance at the alll-candidates' meetings in HSA's election for a new president for the first time in 14 years, as Cindy Stewart has announced she will not be seeking re-election. 

A series of three all-candidates' meetings to give convention delegates an opportunity to meet the presidential candidates, hear their vision for the union and ask questions has been scheduled as follows:

For members in Region 8
Monday, March 5, 2007    1:00 ... 4:00 pm

For members in Regions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10
Wednesday, March 7, 2007    1:00 ... 4:00 pm
Inn at Westminster Quay, New Westminster

For members in Region 1 & 2
Friday, March 9th, 2007    1:00 ... 4:00 pm
Hotel Grand Pacific, Victoria 

All members are welcome to attend the all-candidate meetings, however HSA will pay wage replacement, per diems and travel expenses for chief stewards to attend (one per chapter - facilities with more than 300 members may also send their assistant chief steward).   If a chief steward or assistant chief steward is unable to attend, an alternate may be selected.

HSA will also pay wage replacement, per diems and travel expenses for presidential candidates, regional directors and MALs (who are not chief stewards).

Please note that accommodation will be paid only if participants are unable to travel to and from the meetings the same day (e.g. no flights are available).

Registration Forms must be received by the HSA office no later than Friday, February 23rd.  Questions regarding registration should be directed to Lorraine Mack at the HSA office.
