Registration Open: #HowIWillChange Men's Conference
On Feb. 9, 2018, HSA hosted an all-day workshop entitled, "Men as Allies." The workshop, organized by HSA's Education Committee, was an opportunity for men in the union to come together and discuss the role they can play in supporting gender equity work. The workshop created space to explore how men have benefited from patriarchy and sexism, and sought to deepen participants' understanding of allyship in the fight against gender oppression.
Some men at the workshop have expressed a desire to learn more about opportunities to support women. On Saturday, March 3, community group the Men's Accountability Project is hosting a one-day conference on men's accountability and stopping violence against women, called #HowIWillChange. The conference may be of interest to some HSA members.
It will take place Saturday, March 3 from 10am-6pm at:
Ray-Cam Co-operative Centre
920 East Hastings Street
Vancouver, BC V6A 3T1
RayCam is a wheel-chair accessible venue, staffed by members of CUPE. Licensed childcare provided on site.
