Retirement planning: Municipal Pension Plan seminars scheduled

The Municipal Pension Plan is hosting retirement seminars in the coming months at various locations throughout B.C.

Who can attend?
All plan members are welcome, including those receiving long-term disability (LTD) benefits. There is no charge to attend and guests and spouses are invited.

What does the seminar cover?
The basics of the penion plan are explained and the retirement process, from application to receiving payments, is covered. Topics such as how purcahsing service increases your pension and how to get credit for child-rearing time are discussed. The seminar is about three hours long.

Why should I attend?
Attendees have found the seminar helpful in their retirement and estate planning by familiarizing themselves wit the benefits of the pension plan and the retirement process.

How do I register?
Complete and return an application form, available from the MPP website at mpp.pensionsbc.ca, or from your human resources opr payroll departament. Seminar services staff will confirm your attendance, including the time and location, by e-mail or by mail.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and some venues fill up quickly, so it is important to register early.
