Show Your Support for Public Service Workers
Members of the BC General Employees’ Union and the Professional Employees Association are striking to achieve reasonable pay increases for public service workers including wildland firefighters, correctional officers and sheriffs, conservation officers, court workers, engineers, foresters, and geoscientists.
HSA stands in solidarity with these actions, and members are encouraged to show their support.
Join the Picket Lines
Your striking colleagues would love to have your support on the picket lines. Drop by for a visit, bring them a coffee, and spend a bit of time showing your support by walking with them. Show off any HSA-branded items you have on hand.
On Thursday and Friday, targeted strike actions will take place at the following locations:
Surrey: 10470 152 Street
Victoria: 3350 Douglas, 4000 Seymour, 1802 Douglas, 1810 Blanshard, 836 Yates, and 675 Belleville (the Royal BC Museum)
Prince George: 1011 4th Ave
Vancouver: 900 Howe Street
None of these locations is an HSA worksite, so you do not have to be concerned about crossing picket lines to get to work. Always remember that when you encounter a picket, do not cross, and contact HSA for further instructions.
