Social Justice Day Workshop: Justice and Local Politics
Educational Objective:
To explore the issue of social justice and some of the efforts HSA and its partners are undertaking to bring about just conditions both locally and globally. This year’s one-day workshop is February 17th from 9 am - 4 pm and will focus on the connection between local social justice movements and local politics.
Target Audience:
All members interested in social justice.
Workshop Goals:
- Understand what social justice means for HSA/union members and the broader labour movement
- Discuss current campaigns being implemented by our partners that contribute to the fight for fair working conditions locally and globally
- To explore the connections between local social justice movements and local/provincial politics
How would this workshop benefit members?
HSA’s CESA Committee is pleased to host this event. It will provide information on ongoing campaigns with sister organizations. It will provide a forum for social justice activists to network and connect HSA members to the broader movement with respect to social justice.
Participants will receive wage replacement, accommodations (shared) and travel expenses in accordance with HSA policy.
