Three candidates in Region 2 byelection
During the next several weeks, HSA members in Region 2 will have an opportunity to elect their representative on HSA’s Board of Directors.
The byelection was required when Region 2 regional director Val Avery was named HSA President last month, creating a vacancy on the board of directors. The successful candidate will fill the vacancy until the end of the term, which expires at the end of the 2014 HSA Convention in April.
Nominations for the position closed October 2, with three members declaring their candidacy:
- Derrick Hoyt, a Pathologist Assistant at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria.
- Mark Lowes, a Radiation Therapist at BCCA – Vancouver Island Cancer Centre
- Anna Morton, a Social Worker at Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health
In the coming weeks, all members in Region 2 will receive an election package in the mail which includes candidate biographies, voting instructions, a ballot, and a return envelope to mail your completed ballot back to HSA.
Ballots must be received in the HSA office no later than: 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 13.
