Today is the Day of Action to Stop U.S.-Style Health Care in Canada. It is also the day Alberta's two-tier health care law, Bill 11, officially takes effect, letting rich people who can pay get faster access to medically necessary care while everyone else is stuck waiting in the public system.

Today we are asking everyone who cares about public health care to take action.

Send a message your MP and the Prime Minister

Click the button below to send your message directly to your MP and Prime Minister Mark Carney, demanding they take a stand against U.S.-style care that is going to force you and your family to pay more for medically necessary care, like having a baby, getting a hip replacement, or repairing your vision. Feel free to personalize the message in your own words before sending. It takes less than a minute.

Canadian Health Coalition Chairperson Jason MacLean and Communications Director Anne Lagacé Dowson announce the launch of the campaign to keep U.S.-style health care out of Canada, August 31, 2026.

On Monday, we launched our national campaign to keep U.S.-style health care out of Canada, and to protect our cherished public health care system.

In the coming weeks we will be working with provincial groups and allies to:

  • Hold 50+ town halls across Canada, hosted by provincial and territorial health coalitions
  • Send thousands of postcards and emails delivered to Prime Minister Carney
  • Blanket communities nationwide with high-profile lawn signs
  • Show millions of people new ads on cable TV networks
  • Grab attention through a national social media advertising campaign
  • Hold our biggest lobby day ever on Parliament Hill, taking place in February 2027

Thank you for standing with us today. There is more to come, we will keep you posted.

In solidarity,
