Voting on health science professionals tentative agreement gets underway January 7
Community-based voting on the proposed health science professionals tentative agreement gets underway on Monday, January 7, with information meetings and voting kicking off in Vancouver at the Holiday Inn on West Broadway.
The first week of meetings will be for members in Vancouver, Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon, Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Victoria, and White Rock.
Members may vote at any of the community meetings – regardless of whether your worksite is included. That means, for example, if it is easier for you to vote in Surrey, even though you work in Vancouver, you can vote in Surrey on the voting day in Surrey.
Voting will be community-based, and not at every individual worksite.
Check the HSA website regularly for information on where to vote, as meetings may be added throughout January. Voting and information meetings are scheduled weekdays from January 7 to February 1.
Members who work in communities where in-person voting is not available will receive a voting package by mail.
If you are unable to attend an in-person meeting, email @email to have a voting package mailed to you. Mail ballots must be post-marked by February 1, 2019.
If you have questions about the proposed agreement, please email @email. In addition, three information telephone town halls for members to get information and ask questions about the proposed agreement have been scheduled. Those town hall meetings are scheduled for Monday, January 7, Thursday, January 17, and Wednesday, January 23 at 7 p.m. Members will be informed in advance of how to participate in telephone town hall meetings.
