Walk for Community Social Services ... March 31 in Victoria

On March 31, 2012, the Community Social Services Matter campaign is organizing a walk in Victoria in support of community social services, and to raise awareness about the vital role these services play in our communities.

Saturday, March 31, 2012
Centennial Square, Victoria
Start Time:  11:00 am
Wrap up BBQ:  12 noon

Community social services include everything from child care and infant development programs to employment and residential supports for people with developmental disabilities, to specialized services for immigrant families and support for women escaping abusive relationships.

They help make our communities stronger, healthier and more stable. But in recent years, these services have suffered from cutbacks and inadequate funding.

Together, we can shine a spotlight on the need for governments at all levels to provide the resources needed to ensure no one falls through the cracks when they have a special need or when they are facing a crisis in their lives.
