The workshop isdesigned for activists, stewards, and union representatives.
The Drug andAlcohol Absenteeism workshop will cover the fundamentals of the lawsurrounding absenteeism, with particular focus on the special circumstances ofaddicted workers. In addition, it willtouch on leading case law with respect to the distinction between culpable andnon culpable absenteeism, therequirements to establish a prima facie case of fitness for work andtypes of evidence the employer may use to rebut the presumption of fitness.
